Log in
Log in to the OPAL learning platform with your university login.
Select HTWK Leipzig under Login .
When logging in for the first time, you must accept the data protection and terms of use.
Home page
After logging in, you will be taken to your personal start page. You can personalise this, i.e. add new windows (portlets) or move them.
To do this, click on Add portlet or configure it using the small cogwheel.
User interface
In addition to the three main navigation areas Home, Teaching & Learning and Courses , the courses each open in their own tabs. Navigation on mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets is via a dynamic menu on the left-hand side of the screen.
Find courses
On the start page, click on your faculty in the My Institution portlet.
This will take you directly to the Course offerings tab. Here you will find the courses sorted by degree programme and semester.
Courses
A course is a virtual space that can be used for teaching, communication and collaborative work. It can be used to supplement existing face-to-face events such as seminars, lectures or training courses.
Favourites:
To access frequently used courses more quickly, you can add them to your favourites.
To do this, click on the star in the top bar of the course. The favourites will then appear on the start page in the Favourites portlet.
Enrol in modules
To gain access to the course content, you must first enrol. You will find the corresponding menu item in the left-hand navigation bar of the course.
If you enrol in a course, you will be assigned to a group associated with the course.
These groups are primarily used to manage course participants.
